Wow, what a thrilling honor! See Jenna Ricker and Greg Stuhr's amazing The American Side at IFC Center this week, where wednesday May 4th at 745pm, I'll be moderating "Study of the Score" with Wonder of the World Maestro (and Master of Scoring Noir) David Shire. This film rocked one of my favorite festivals, Woodstock FF.
I've played bass in his musicals going way back (Baby, Starting Here Staring Now, Closer Than Ever), loved & studied scores to The Conversation, Taking of Pelham 123 and Zodiac, among others AND was mentored by him in the 2008 BMI Composing for the Screen workshop. (And oh yeah, I know I've danced the night away to his tracks on Sat Night Fever.)
